The Emperor Gum Moth is not a native species to New Zealand but is very well loved by New Zealanders all the same. One of our largest moths, the Emperor Gum Moth has stunning wing patterns and spots of colour.
The Emperor Gum Moth brooch - Tiger's eye is hand carved in Puriri (Native Timber to New Zealand) and is one of two brooches which are based on the Emperor Gum Moth.
This particular brooch features the warm natural qualities of Tiger's eye set into 9ct yellow gold settings. The antennae are also crafted in 9ct yellow gold finished with a strong backing plate of blackened Sterling Silver with 'Emperor Gum Moth' engraved onto the back on the piece.
