The striking black and white bird, the Magpie, can be found both in the North and South Islands of New Zealand. Intelligent and playful birds, introduced from Australia in the 1860's, the Magpie has become a local resident in both farmlands and urban parks. Loved and admired by some while loathed by others, they nevertheless add to the diversity of bird life we have here in New Zealand.
A new take on traditional Greenstone/Pounamu Earrings, the Magpie Skull Earrings are hand crafted in Sterling Silver and available with either New Zealand Greenstone (Pounamu) or Australian Black Nephrite, both of which look stunning.
