This piece references the story of Blodeuwedd that appears in the Mabinogion of Keltoi tradition. Initially created as the flower maiden, Blodeuwedd is transformed into an owl as punishment for her betrayal of her husband Lleu. The betrayal however is driven by love and desperation and speaks to the duality of all stories.
